Honours even between play-off hunting Bury and Newport

Play-off chasing pair Bury and Newport could not be separated as an entertaining Gigg Lane Sky Bet League Two clash ended 1-1.
The hosts – who extended their unbeaten run to six matches – created the majority of the chances.
Bury’s Nicky Maynard broke the deadlock after 25 minutes – his fifth goal in four games.
He left Mickey Demetriou for dead in the centre circle before charging clear and drilling clinically past Joe Day from the edge of the box.
Earlier, Newport went close when Robbie Willmott curled a 25-yard free-kick narrowly wide.
At the other end, Dominic Telford scooped a shot over the top after being teed up by Danny Mayor.
Maynard fired an angled shot just past the post in the 50th minute.
It was 1-1 soon after when Scott Bennett crossed in for Jamille Matt, who comfortably tapped home his ninth goal of the season from five yards.
Maynard almost made it 2-1 minutes later, but he was denied by a superb point-blank stop from Day.
