Shane Sutherland scored a brace as Elgin defeated 10-man Cowdenbeath 3-1 in Ladbrokes League Two.
David Cox opened the scoring for Cowdenbeath in the 10th minute but the hosts were back on terms just after the halfway point of the opening period.
Striker Sutherland collected Brian Cameron’s shot and slid in his third goal of the season in the 25th minute.
Elgin took the lead in the 50th minute when Darryl McHardy scored with a left-footed finish.
Cowdenbeath goalkeeper David McGurn was then sent off for a reckless challenge and conceded a penalty, and with the visitors having no substitute keeper on the bench, Jamie Pyper took his place in between the sticks but could not save Sutherland’s spot-kick.
