An investigation has been opened by French authorities into the possible match-fixing of the Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Red Star Belgrade on October 4.
The reason for the probe is that a senior Serbian club leader had bet a huge amount of money that his team would lose by five goals.
UEFA alerted France of the possible rigging of the result after being warned about bets of several million pounds.
Such fears only intensified when PSG emerged victorious by the requisite amount of goals (6-1), and L'Equipe report that one bet was in the region of five million euros.
MARCA have been able to corroborate that the investigations are following the relevant procedures in these cases.
Neymar was the great star on the night, scoring a hat-trick.
PSG were 4-0 up at the break and, in the 70th minute, Kylian Mbappe scored the fifth.
Marin pulled one back four minutes later, and in the 81st minute, Neymar got his third of the night to complete the scoring.
