Orient’s pursuit of Salford continues with Maidenhead win

Leyton Orient kept the pressure on Vanarama National League leaders Salford with a 2-0 win at Maidenhead.
The O’s surrendered top spot last week when suffered a home defeat against Sutton but immediately returned to winning ways.
Leyton Orient took an 11th-minute lead as Maidehead failed to properly clear an Orient corner and Jobi McAnuff crossed for Macauley Bonne to head home.
And the lead was doubled after 30 minutes with McAnuff again involved as he laid the ball off in the box to James Alabi and he drilled a left-footed effort beyond Carl Pentney.
Orient nearly added a third six minutes from the end when Bonne played in James Brophy and his attempted chip over Pentney was well claimed by the goalkeeper.
