Gilliead hoping to keep Shrews spot
Posted Friday, October 05, 2018 by PA
Shrewsbury defender Alex Gilliead will be hoping to retain his place for the Sky Bet League One match against Accrington.
Gilliead came into the side at the expense of on-loan Rangers midfiedler Greg Docherty for the midweek goalless draw at Walsall, where Shaun Whalley was deployed in the number 10 role.
Winger Abo Eisa continues to work on his fitness as he nears a return from a knee problem.
The 22-year-old has yet to feature for the first team this season after suffering ligament damage during training in August.
Accrington captain Seamus Conneely remains doubtful for the trip to New Meadow.
Midfielder Conneely missed the midweek win over Doncaster with a groin problem, and continues to be monitored.
Dan Barlaser, on loan from Newcastle, is ready to step in again if needed.
Otherwise, in-form Stanley have no fresh injury problems as they seek a fourth straight league win.
