James Norwood strike sinks Lincoln

Tranmere produced a superb second-half performance to clinch an impressive 1-0 victory over league leaders Lincoln at Prenton Park.
The visitors had dominated the first half but James Norwood – who was sent off in injury time – scored his eighth goal of the season on 62 minutes and Rovers were able to hold out for a gutsy win.
Scott Davies produced a brilliant save from a John Akinde header early on before Shay McCarten went around the Rovers keeper moments later only to see his shot cleared off the line by Luke McCullough.
The hosts spent the majority of the opening 45 minutes defending, but the introduction of Harvey Gilmour at half time proved the catalyst for Tranmere’s upturn in fortunes after the break.
Rovers had two dubious penalty appeals waved away but just past the hour mark they were rewarded for their efforts when a flick over the top from Ollie Banks was met by Norwood who rolled the ball past Josh Vickers into the net.
The goal scorer was dismissed in injury time for a second yellow but Tranmere held on for a brilliant win.
