Rooney's match-winning performance ensures his side are closing in on a play-off spot.
And he celebrated by enjoying a family day out in Philadelphia where Coleen and their four children posed by the famous statue of the boxer.
It is one of Philly's most famous pieces of art and is situated near the steps which became synonymous when Rocky sprinted up them in the third film.
DC United have five games left of their season and are two points behind Montreal who occupy the final Eastern Conference play-off spot.

"It gives us more confidence and especially it's great tonight to have so many attacking players score goals."
