Josh Hare nets the winner for Eastleigh

A second-half strike by Josh Hare proved the difference as Eastleigh beat Gateshead 1-0 at the International Stadium.
Eastleigh had the first sightings of goal in the game and Gateshead goalkeeper Aynsley Pears was called into action twice in the first 20 minutes, firstly blocking Chris Zebroski’s shot then denying Cavanagh Miley’s header.
The game came to life after the break and Robbie Tinkler hit the woodwork twice for Gateshead in as many minutes.
His first effort from 25 yards beat Max Stryjek, but to the goalkeeper’s relief the ball cannoned back off the crossbar. Tinkler had Stryjek worried once more moments later when his shot from inside the box hit the post.
But for Gateshead’s pressure, it was Eastleigh who took the lead 14 minutes from time thanks to a low driven strike from distance by Hare, which went in with the help of the left-hand post.
The Spitfires held onto the lead for their third consecutive win, consigning the Heed to drop outside of the play-off places to ninth.
