Pools pegged back after Muir magic
Posted Sunday, September 30, 2018 by PA
Hartlepool and Aldershot played out a 1-1 draw as the visitors responded to Niko Muir’s brilliant opener.
Muir’s fine lobbed effort, which crept in just under the crossbar, had given the Pools the lead at the interval.
The advantage lasted until just past the hour-mark when a swift Aldershot breakaway was finished off by Matt McClure.
The Shots almost grabbed a dramatic late winner when Jake Gallagher’s overhead kick came down off the bar and onto the line, before being cleared.
The draw gives Aldershot their first point on their travels this season, having lost their last six matches away from the EBB Stadium, while Hartlepool remain eighth.
