Bolton Wanderers vs Derby County - Marc Wilson banned for Bolton
Posted Friday, September 28, 2018 by PA
Bolton will be without Marc Wilson for the Championship visit of Carabao Cup giant-killers Derby.
Wilson was sent off during the goalless stalemate against Ipswich so either David Wheater or Mark Beevers will be recalled in central defence.
The game at Portman Road last weekend was the first time in Phil Parkinson’s 27 months as Bolton boss that his team sheet had not included either Wheater or Beevers.
Christian Doidge was taken out of the firing line against both Ipswich and Middlesbrough, with Parkinson admitting the summer signing from Forest Green is still coming to terms with the demands of Championship football. It remains to be seen if he will be involved on Saturday.
Derby, who knocked Manchester United out of the League Cup at Old Trafford in midweek, have Tom Lawrence available again.
The forward is the Rams’ joint-leading goal-scorer this season and comes back into contention after serving a three-match suspension.
Frank Lampard has no new problems in the wake of the United game but could make a couple of changes to his starting line-up.
Captain Curtis Davies (hamstring) and George Evans (knee) are still not ready to rejoin the squad while Marcus Olsson (knee) remains a long-term absentee.
