Salford produce sparkling second half to beat Hartlepool

Salford scored three quickfire goals in the second half to go second in the National League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Hartlepool.
Danny Lloyd, Adam Rooney and Tom Walker were all on target for the Ammies, who were dominant throughout and well worth the three points.
They started the day fourth in the league, and suffered a frustrating first period as Walker hit the bar twice in the space of eight minutes – the second thanks to a fine save from Scott Loach in the Pools goal.
Nicky Featherstone was wasteful from close range for the visitors before Salford stamped their authority on the game after the break.
Lloyd was the man to break the deadlock, diving in at the back post to head home from a Scott Wiseman cross, before Rooney headed in his eighth of the season from a Walker corner.
He finally got his name on the scoresheet as Rory Gaffney broke and fed the midfielder for a third goal in 11 minutes to wrap up a comfortable win.
