Barrow ended a five-match winless run in the Vanarama National League with a 2-0 victory over Maidenhead.
The hosts fired an early warning when Luke Burgess forced visiting goalkeeper Carl Pentney to intervene just three minutes in.
And Burgess was instrumental in the Bluebirds’ opening goal. The on-loan midfielder held off his marker before playing the ball to John Rooney for a simple tap-in after 25 minutes.
Rooney came close to adding another six minutes later when he struck the crossbar from a free-kick, while Maidenhead could have forged an equaliser but Adrian Clifton fired narrowly over.
The visitors were further frustrated in the second half when Ryan Upward’s shot was blocked at close range by Andy Firth in the Barrow net.
And the hosts took full advantage in the 73rd minute, with Tyler Smith applying the finishing touch to a neat pass from Rhys Norrington-Davies.
Josh Kelly saw his header strike the crossbar soon after for Maidenhead but a goal would not come.
