Oldham will be without Gevaro Nepomuceno and Daniel Iversen for their home game against Newport.
Midfielder Nepomuceno (Curacao) and on-loan Leicester goalkeeper Iversen (Denmark Under-21s) are away on international duty.
Chris O’Grady and Jose Baxter are among those likely to return to the starting line-up but Jordan Lyden, signed on loan from Aston Villa last week, must wait for his debut as he remains sidelined through injury.
Striker Ishmael Miller (hamstring), defender Cameron Dummigan (groin) and midfielder Giles Coke are also working their way back to full fitness.
Newport teenager Antoine Semenyo is still unavailable after sustaining concussion at the end of August.
Semenyo, on loan from Bristol City, is required to miss a further six days under the Football Association’s concussion protocol as he is under the age of 18.
Newport boss Mike Flynn will also be without Cardiff loanee Mark Harris, who is on international duty with Wales Under-21s.
Midfielder Robbie Willmott is working his way back from the hamstring injury that has kept him out so far this season.
