Wrexham knocked off top of National League after goalless draw against Halifax

Wrexham surrendered their lead at the top of the Vanarama National League but remain unbeaten at home following a goalless draw with high-flying Halifax at the Racecourse Ground.
The hosts were almost ahead in spectacular fashion after four minutes when Mike Fondop-Talum rattled the crossbar from long-range, while at the other end Halifax saw a goal ruled out for a foul on home goalkeeper Rob Lainton.
Fondop-Talum went on several occasions as Wrexham looked the more likely to break the deadlock, but the target man struggled to convert from close range.
Dayle Southwell almost won it for the Shaymen late on but Lainton managed to tip his effort around the left-hand post to keep the score goalless, with the Dragons dropping to third in the table as a result and Halifax remaining in fourth.
