Wrexham took over top spot in the National League after a hard-fought 2-0 win at home to Aldershot.
Stuart Beavon and Jordan Maguire-Drew scored in the second half after the struggling visitors threatened to frustrate their hosts.
Wrexham, looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season at Solihull on Monday, dominated the first half, but could not break down their stubborn opponents.
They finally made the breakthrough in the 61st minute when Luke Summerfield swung in a corner and Beavon powered home a free header.
And Maguire-Drew made the points safe in the 78th minute, nipping in at the far post to convert Kevin Roberts’ deep free-kick.
