Featherstone strike enough for Hartlepool to see off Chesterfield

Nicky Featherstone struck the only goal as Hartlepool posted a third successive win in the National League at Chesterfield’s expense.
The midfielder made space for himself on the edge of the box before firing home his second goal of the season into the bottom corner in the 17th minute.
Pools twice came close to doubling their advantage with Michael Woods putting his effort just wide of the post before Mark Kitching headed off target at the back post.
Chesterfield’s main first-half threat came from the long throws of Sam Muggleton, who forced home keeper Scott Loach into a smart save just before the break.
The visitors came close to levelling with 15 minutes remaining with Loach denying Kyel Reid from range before debutant Haydn Hollis hooked over in stoppage time as they slipped to a fourth successive defeat.
