Eastleigh held off a second-half fightback to secure a 2-1 Vanarama National League win at Dover.
Ben Williamson tested Dover goalkeeper Mitch Walker as early as the sixth minute, and the former Port Vale striker gave the visitors the lead after 19 minutes when he finished off a fine team move.
Inih Effiong fired into the side-netting for the hosts, but Paul McCallum doubled the Spitfires’ advantage when he headed home Josh Hare’s cross eight minutes before half-time.
Graham Stack made three fine saves at the start of the second half before Dover hit the post, and the pressure told as Mitch Brundle volleyed home from the edge of the area in the 65th minute to reduce the arrears.
