Aston Villa could hand a debut to new signing Anwar El Ghazi against Reading.
The winger has signed on loan from Lille to bolster Steve Bruce’s squad while the Villa boss is also hoping to complete the loan signing of Yannick Bolasie from Everton.
Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan (both groin) remain out for Villa which had left them struggling for numbers up front.
Glenn Whelan will be hoping to keep his place after being the only change for Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.
Sone Aluko and Mo Barrow are back for Reading after appearing against Blackburn.
Barrow was a second-half substitute after recovering from a hamstring injury while Aluko started at Ewood Park.
Josh Sims is pushing for a start after a substitute appearance against Blackburn having joined on loan from Southampton.
Reading are second bottom of the Sky Bet Championship without a win this season having blown a 2-0 lead at Blackburn to draw 2-2.
