Mansfield maintain unbeaten start after draw at Tranmere

Mansfield’s unbeaten start to the Sky Bet League Two season continued after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Tranmere at Prenton Park.
Tyler Walker squandered the Stags’ best chance when he blazed wide on the counter attack with 10 minutes to play.
Otis Khan also missed a golden opportunity for the visitors, putting a free shot on goal weakly into the hands of Scott Davies.
James Norwood went close for Rovers in the opening 45 minutes but he was denied by Bobby Olejnik.
The contest was keenly contested by both sides in a game of few clear-cut chances, with a draw probably the fairest outcome.
Mansfield had finished the first half strongly, pushing Tranmere further back, without creating anything particularly dangerous.
But Rovers responded after the break and when Jake Caprice crossed from the right Norwood was only denied by a deflection over the bar.
Connor Jennings cleared a header off the goal line late on to prevents a Mansfield winner before Norwood saw a low drive saved at the other end as the spoils were shared.
