Solihull show spirit to share spoils with Sutton

Solihull twice fought back from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw against rival Vanarama National League high-flyers Sutton.
The hosts made the early running with Sutton goalkeeper Jamie Butler kept busy but it was the visitors who took the lead thanks to Ross Lafayette’s neat 26th-minute finish.
Solihull, who like Sutton had started the day in the top six, pushed for an equaliser before the break but Butler denied Jamie Reckord before Adi Yussuf fired just wide of the far post.
The Moors went even closer in the 68th minute when Darren Carter saw his free-kick hit the underside of the crossbar and stay out.
However, Solihull were level within a minute with Danny Wright heading home from close range following another corner.
Sutton – one of only four remaining unbeaten teams in the division – reclaimed the lead in the 77th minute when Tommy Wright latched on to Lafayette’s flick-on before firing home.
But there was still time for Solihull hit back once more, with Kyle Storer’s 82nd-minute leveller earning them a point.
