Aldershot off bottom after win over Dagenham

Aldershot climbed off the foot of the fledgling Vanarama National League table with a 2-1 win at home over Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Shots took less than three minutes to forge ahead when Scott Rendell was ideally placed to nod in from Regan Booty’s well-floated corner.
Aldershot remained on the front front as Dan Holman twice went close and the Daggers were relieved to get to the break just one down.
Shamir Fenelon did make it two with a raking first-time finish from Luke Wanadio’s left-wing cross on 54 minutes.
Substitute Luke Kandi pulled one back with a neat volley at the back post, but it was not enough for Peter Taylor’s men.
