Luke Armstrong scored for the third successive game as Gateshead maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 win against Dover.
The Heed had started on the front foot, with new signing Mike Williamson going close with a header.
But it was the visitors who took a 25th-minute lead when a Dover corner was headed goalwards by Connor Essam and Jamie Allen flicked the ball over the line.
Gateshead were on level terms in the 35th minute when Greg Olley’s corner picked out Robbie Tinkler and his header crept in.
Williamson looped a header off the crossbar before the break, while at the other end Inih Effiong’s low strike from a Jack Connors pass came close to restoring Dover’s lead on the hour.
Tom White was not too far away with a 30-yard drive for Gateshead, who snatched victory three minutes from time.
Steven Rigg’s shot deflected into the path of Armstrong, who turned and fired the ball into the bottom corner.
