Wrexham continue good start with Boreham Wood win

Wrexham strolled to a simple 3-0 victory over Boreham Wood at the Racehorse Ground to secure their second win of the Vanarama National League campaign.
Wrexham surged into a 27th-minute lead when a long ball from the back found James Jennings, who whipped in a brilliant cross for Jordan Maguire-Drew to steer into the bottom left corner of the net.
Replacement Rekeil Pyke doubled the lead in the second half when a goalmouth scramble that saw the ball strike the crossbar end with his opportunist backheal into the net while under heavy pressure.
Boreham Wood keeper Ellery Balcombe should have done better, however, as the ball was dislodged from his grasp far too easily by Pyke, who is on loan from Huddersfield.
And it was Pyke who took the free-kick that enabled Mike Fondop-Talom to tuck home Wrexhan’s third late on and put the hosts out of sight.
