Marcus Fraser leaves it late to steer Staggies to opening-day victory

Marcus Fraser hit the winner two minutes from time to give Ross County a 1-0 Ladbrokes Championship win over Alloa.
Greig Spence had a golden opportunity to give the visitors a 17th-minute lead when clean through but he dragged his effort wide of Scott Fox’s post.
And at the other end Keith Watson sent a close-range header narrowly wide.
The home side began to dominate possession and came close to breaking the deadlock 10 minutes from time but Iain Vigurs bent an effort from the edge of the box inches wide of a post before pulling a 20-yard free-kick over the bar.
And they finally broke through in the 88th minute when Davis Keillor-Dunn’s cross found Fraser and he turned the ball into the net before Brian Graham almost doubled the advantage but saw his header from Josh Mullin’s cross brilliantly saved by Neil Parry.
