Barnet settle for point against Aldershot

Barnet had to settle for a point from their first game back in the Vanarama National League after being held to a goalless draw at Aldershot.
The Bees, who dropped out of the Football League in May, started brightly at the EBB Stadium, with Medy Elito curling a shot just wide in the fourth minute.
Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong briefly sparkled for Aldershot when driving towards the box with pace, however his angled drive could only shave paint off a post.
John Still’s Barnet hit the crossbar through Dan Sparkes on the half-hour mark, with Charlee Adams blazing the rebound over under pressure from James Rowe.
After the break the Bees looked more like scoring than their hosts, but Sparkes and Byron Harrison failed to make the most of some promising late chances as Aldershot held firm.
