Inter Milan agree deal to sign Atletico Madrid defender

Inter Milan have agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

The Nerazzurri will pay 6.5m euros to sign the player on loan for the season, plus 500k euros in bonuses, followed by a 17.5m euro option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Inter are now preparing for Vrsaljko's arrival by scheduling a presentation and a medical to make him available as soon as possible for the manager Luciano Spalletti.

Having seen Joao Cancelo join Juventus earlier this month, Inter have been searching for a new right-back and their search appear to have been fruitful after agreeing a deal for Vrsaljko.

Vrsaljko helped guide Croatia to their first World Cup final this summer as his performances in Russia caught the eye of many clubs around Europe.

The 26-year-old also proved him to be a success for Atletico last season, helping the club from the Spanish capital to win the Europa League.

Vrsaljko now looks set to join at the San Siro this summer, in a deal that represents fantastic business from the Italian club who look to set to wrap up a deal worth a total of 24.5m euros.
