Man Utd have again been linked Robert Lewandowski
Both United and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the prolific Poland frontman, 29, with reports in Germany claiming the Bavarian club will listen to offers of over £70million.
Lewandowski split with agent Cezary Kucharski a few months ago to then link up with super agent Pini Zahavi, who has strong links with Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho.
Lewandowski left Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer for Bayern back in 2014 and earns £300,000 a week in Germany.
Man Utd pay Alexis Sanchez £505,000 per week
United currently pay Chile forward Alexis Sanchez £505,000 per week and Lewandowski’s camp have made it clear they will not entertain a move away from the Allianz Arena unless he gets a significant rise – similar to the level of Sanchez.
The striker remains under contract at Bayern until 2021 and United will face a battle with Madrid to land him as the Spanish club attempt to find a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo after his megabucks move to Juventus.
Meanwhile, four Serie A clubs are slugging it out to splash £15m on bringing United defender Matteo Darmian back home to play in Italy.
Darmian, 28 featured in just 17 games last season and that lack of playing time has convinced him to seek a switch away from Old Trafford.
He moved to United from Torino in 2015 and now Juventus, Napoli and both Milan clubs are ready to roll out the welcome home mat.
Darmian said: “I want to play more regularly.
"Last season I didn’t play much – that’s my objective.
"We will see what happens.”
