We are ready to hit ground running in league, says Dundee boss McCann

Dundee manger Neil McCann insisted his side were all set for their Scottish Premiership opener with St Mirren.
Dundee booked their place in the last 16 of the Betfred Cup on Saturday with a routine 2-0 win over Brechin.
McCann said: “We could have won by a lot greater margin, but the most important thing is we’ve progressed to the next stage.
“It puts us in a good frame of mind for the league opener away to St Mirren, who’ll also be feeling confident having scored so many goals against Dumbarton (they won 6-0).
“We’ll have a couple more players back fit by then so we should be in a good place for the opener.
“We’ve had three wins and three clean sheets in the group stages.
“It’s decent enough so it should give us confidence for what lies ahead.
“The lads deserve credit, although we would liked to have qualified topping the group.
“But some good sides have gone out so we have to remember that as well.”
Brechin Boss Darren Dods said: “It was always going to be tough in the wake of what happened on Wednesday (a 7-1 loss to Dunfermline), but the boys showed character to hang on in there.”
