Salah is unable to catch Messi for the Golden Shoe

As things stand, Lionel Messi has 34 goals scored in the current LaLiga season.
He has been the main man once again for Barcelona and given that Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez have been unable to keep pace with him, it will be the fifth Pichichi of his career, equalling Quini, Alfredo Di Stefano and Hugo Sanchez.
More than likely, those 34 goals will be enough for Messi to revalidate his status as the top marksman in Europe's leagues.
He still has a game in hand he can use to improve upon that number, but the fact that Mohamed Salah only scored once against Brighton means the prize is virtually confirmed for Messi.
The Egyptian attacker has 32 goals in the English top flight and won't add to that, now that the Premier League season is wrapped up.
For his part, Robert Lewandowski has been left out of contention after Bayern's 4-1 defeat in their last league game.
That has left the Pole on 29 goals, the same amount as the injured Ciro Immobile.Only a true miracle in Serie A next weekend would deny Messi the title.
