Wayne Rooney's future at Everton could be sorted out this week
The Toffees hope a meeting with the Goodison boss will help convince the England striker to reject a move to the USA.
Rooney, 32, has held talks with MLS outfit DC United and could end his Premier League career this summer.
The US transfer window opens up on July 10 and DC United hope to complete a deal then.
But Rooney still has 12 months left on his contract at Goodison Park.
And there is an option of a further year that could still be triggered.
Rooney is still keen on staying at his boyhood club who he returned to last summer after 13 years at Manchester United.
But he wants clarity on the management situation at the club with Allardyce wanting meeting with the club's major investor Farhad Moshiri to nail down his own future.
But first he will meet with Rooney and if England's record goal scorer likes what he hears he could stay.
Rooney missed yesterday's clash with West Ham because of a knee injury.
But after the game Allardyce said: "I don't know other than it's up to Wayne and his representatives and the board of directors.
"Everybody will know by the end of the week. And just to stop everybody talking and writing nonsense, there is no problem between me and Wayne Rooney.
"We have been very adult and very professional in our conversations."
