Alloa earn promotion in extra-time after last-gasp leveller at Dumbarton

Alloa claimed promotion to the Scottish Championship in dramatic fashion as a 2-0 win after extra-time secured a 3-2 aggregate victory against Dumbarton.
Trailing 1-0 from Wednesday’s first leg, Alloa grabbed the leveller on aggregate in the third minute of added time when Ross Stewart fired home.
And the Wasps sealed promotion with a superb strike from Jordan Kirkpatrick five minutes into extra-time.
Dumbarton, who finished second from bottom of the Championship, could not respond and the result means they will take Alloa’s place in League One next season.
