Southend boss Chris Powell could again give youth a chance as the Shrimpers look to finish the season on a four-match winning streak.
The likes of Elvis Bwomono, Harry Kyprianou and Lewis Gard have all been given game time in recent weeks and could feature against Bristol Rovers with several senior players battling injuries.
Michael Timlin (dead leg) and Anthony Wordsworth (groin) have both missed the last couple of matches and it remains to be seen if they will be back for the season finale.
Josh Wright, Ben Coker (both hamstring), Michael Turner (thigh), and Anton Ferdinand (knee) have also been unavailable for recent fixtures.
Rovers boss Darrell Clarke might also give some of his youngsters an opportunity to impress with little riding on the game.
Clarke’s options have been limited by the absence of several players, with injured trio Stuart Sinclair, Joe Partington and Daniel Leadbitter again set to be missing.
The Pirates also announced on Thursday that on-loan trio Marc Bola, Dominic Telford and Ryan Sweeney had returned to their parent clubs.
Rovers have won one of their last 10 matches and sit four points and three spots below 10th-placed Southend in League One.
