Carlisle secure comeback win at Port Vale

Carlisle came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Port Vale in Keith Curle’s penultimate game as manager.
Curle, who is leaving the club at the end of the season, saw second-half strikes from Ashley Nadesan and Hallam Hope cancel out Dior Angus’ opener.
After a slow start, Vale debutant Angus tapped in from a couple of yards out in the 34th minute after an initial effort was parried into the air by Carlisle stopper Jack Bonham.
Minutes later the visitors were indebted to Bonham who pulled off a top save to keep out Tom Pope’s header.
The hosts were made to pay for that miss after the restart when the Cumbrians drew level through Nadesan.
A cross was deflected into his path and he drilled a superb effort into the top corner.
Carlisle then sprang in front on 70 minutes when substitute Hope, just four minutes after coming on, fired home Jamie Devitt’s cross.
To compound the hosts’ misery, Anthony Kay was sent off with five minutes remaining.
