Reading defender Leandro Bacuna will serve out his three-match suspension for the Sky Bet Championship match against Ipswich.
Tommy Elphick, though, could be back in contention after recovering from a knee problem.
Winger Callum Harriott (hamstring) and forward Joseph Mendes (knee) have both been stepping up their rehabilitation.
Republic of Ireland international Paul McShane continues his recovery from a long-standing groin problem.
Ipswich will check on midfielder Luke Hyam and Cole Skuse ahead of the trip to the Madejski Stadium.
Hyam missed training with an unspecified problem, while Skuse has been ill but is expected to travel.
Midfielder Grant Ward begins a three-match suspension, which will now run into next season, following his red card in last weekend’s 4-0 home defeat by Aston Villa.
Defender Adam Webster (hamstring) and captain Luke Chambers (cracked rib/dislocated shoulder) remain sidelined, while forwards David McGoldrick (groin) and Joe Garner (minor skull fracture) are both recovering from long-term injuries, along with goalkeeper Dean Gerken (hip), midfielders Tom Adeyemi (hamstring), Emyr Huws and Andre Dozzell (both knee).
