REINFORCE: Pep Guardiola is looking to bring in new faces for next season's title push
The City boss had Thiago, 27, watched again last weekend in Bayern’s 5-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Spain midfielder played for Guardiola at Barcelona and Bayern Munich – and scored in the win where his form and condition were assessed.
He is under contract for another year and is rated by Germany’s champions at £70million.
Jorginho, meanwhile, would cost £65m and is also wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Daily Star Sunday understands that his agent, Joao Santos, was in Manchester recently for talks with United and City.
Jorginho, 26, is under contract for another two years.
Guardiola is eyeing midfielders as Yaya Toure will leave this summer and David Silva and Fernandinho are both 32.
United boss Jose Mourinho expects City to splash the cash again.
He said: “Maybe Manchester City will invest heavily and don’t let the others close the gap to them.”
