Maidstone safe after win over Chester

Maidstone clinched safety with a 3-1 win at already-relegated Chester.
Blair Turgott put Jay Saunders’s men 1-0 up from the penalty spot after a foul on Jamar Loza by Jamie Jones.
Michael Phillips doubled the lead after some slack defending from Chester, the midfielder rounding Andy Firth before slotting home.
Maidstone’s task was complicated though when Alex Wynter was sent off for a second booking following a foul on Tom Crawford.
Academy youngster Cain Noble looked bright throughout for the home side, and from Craig Mahon’s excellent cross the 17-year-old pulled one back on his debut.
The 10 men rode out the storm, though, and Phillips set up full-back Josh Hare to complete the scoring for Maidstone in the latter stages.
