Tom Bolarinwa’s moment of magic strengthens Sutton’s status

Tom Bolarinwa scored a fine solo goal to help Sutton move a step closer to securing a third-placed finish in the Vanarama National League as they won 1-0 at Ebbsfleet.
Bolarinwa’s moment of magic was not in keeping with the game, which saw few clear-cut chances. The on-loan midfielder dribbled past several players before firing past Nathan Ashmore for his third goal in six games.
Before that, Sutton – who ended a five-game winless streak – had created the better openings with Tommy Wright going close in the seventh minute when his close-range strike struck the base of a post and then had an effort blocked on the line on the half-hour.
Ebbsfleet dropped out of the play-off positions with two games remaining after seeing an 11-game unbeaten run come to an end.
