Dagenham retain faint play-off hope after beating Maidenhead
Posted Sunday, April 22, 2018 by PA
Dagenham and Redbridge’s 1-0 victory at home to Maidenhead ensured that they can still just about sneak into the play-offs on the final day of the season.
The Daggers opened the scoring early on when Fejiri Okenabirhie lifted the ball in for Michael Cheek to head home expertly at the near post.
John Still’s hosts played within themselves in the second half, and Maidenhead, already safe and secure in mid-table, did not have the requisite gusto to make them sweat on the victory.
The Essex outfit will still need an inspirational win at champions Macclesfield and other favourable results on April 28 to make the play-offs.
