Stalemate for Berwick and Stenhousemuir

Stenhousemuir missed the chance to strengthen their position in the top four of Scottish League Two after a goalless draw at strugglers Berwick.
Tuesday night’s encounter at Shielfield Park finally went ahead at the sixth time of asking following a series of postponements – the two sides will meet there again next week.
Berwick were awarded a penalty on 39 minutes after Steven Notman was tripped by Ruaridh Donaldson. Aaron Murrell, though, saw his spot-kick saved by Chris Smith.
Warriors keeper Smith was called into action again early in the second half following a long-range effort from Berwick midfielder Gary Phillips.
The point leaves fourth-placed Stenhousemuir four clear of Clyde and Elgin, having played a match more.
