Maidstone boost survival hopes with win over high-flying Fylde

Maidstone boosted their bid for Vanarama National League survival with an unlikely 1-0 win over play-off hopefuls AFC Fylde.
Blair Turgott grabbed the only goal after 23 minutes when he intercepted Simon Grand’s pass before showing composure to slot past Jay Lynch in the Fylde goal.
Danny Rowe saw an effort deflect wide before he drilled a goal-bound free-kick into the Maidstone wall as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.
Full-back Joe Anderson was inches from doubling the host’s lead but his strike from range bounced out after hitting the inside of the post.
Maidstone defended valiantly with another last-ditch tackle to deny Emre Tasdemir late on to end their six match winless run.
