Oxford will run the rule over Joe Rothwell ahead of their clash with Southend.
The midfielder is not considered to be fully fit after limping off the field in Tuesday’s defeat to Fleetwood but he may be risked.
Curtis Nelson is still unavailable, however.
The U’s currently sit 18th in the table, only five points clear of the relegation zone.
Southend have no fresh injury concerns.
Goalkeeper Ted Smith and defender Rob Kiernan are still on the sidelines due to injury.
Southend are currently sitting in 14th spot in the league.
Chris Powell has insisted that the Blues’ impressive record against United counts for nothing going into this fixture.
