Alan Lithgow scored a dramatic late winner to help Championship high-flyers Livingston back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Morton.
Defender Lithgow netted his second of the match with just four minutes to go as Livi recovered from their defeat to Dunfermline last time out – their first loss in 11 matches – with a hard-fought victory.
Greenock threatened an upset when Thomas O’Ware gave them an 18th-minute lead when he headed home following a corner, but Livi were level by the break.
Lithgow’s long throw was flicked on and Jackson Longridge got on the end of it to head past Derek Gaston.
The hosts went ahead in the 53rd minute when Lithgow headed home Jordan Thompson’s corner, but Morton hit back to make it 2-2.
The ball fell kindly to Ricki Lamie inside the box following a corner and he smashed home a 69th-minute equaliser.
Livi captain Craig Halkett hit the post with eight minutes left, but the hosts would not be denied as his defensive partner Lithgow headed home Keaghan Jacobs’s corner to keep the Lions 12 points behind leaders St Mirren, who they play next.
