Chalmers at the double as Inverness claim convincing victory

Joe Chalmers hit a brace as Inverness extended their unbeaten run to four games with a 4-0 win over already-relegated Brechin.
Chalmers put Inverness ahead against City, who have yet to win this season, 12 minutes into the game when Liam Polworth’s cross into the box was not dealt with by Graeme Smith under pressure from George Oakley and Chalmers was left with a simple tap-in.
And 10 minutes later it was 2-0 as Chalmers turned provider. His free-kick into the box picked out Coll Donaldson and he turned the ball into the net from close range.
Chalmers got his second of the game in the 58th minute when he got on the end of Polworth’s cross to finish low past Smith and Oakley made it four from close range after being picked out by Connor Bell.
