Morecambe vs Cambridge United - Goalkeeper Barry Roche set to miss out for Morecambe
Posted Sunday, April 01, 2018 by PA
Morecambe are set to be without goalkeeper Barry Roche against Cambridge.
Roche was forced off with a calf injury after just 10 minutes of Good Friday’s 1-1 draw at Swindon and is unlikely to be rushed back for Easter Monday, with deputy Danijel Nizic in line to start.
Boss Jim Bentley said there would likely be another couple of changes to keep legs fresh, while he will check on Callum Lang (ankle) and Adam McGurk (illness) before the game.
The Shrimps are eight points above the Sky Bet League Two drop zone and are on a five-match unbeaten run, but only one of those games has been a victory.
Cambridge interim head coach Joe Dunne is set to make changes despite his side ending their five-match winless run on Friday.
Jake Carroll and David Amoo came into the starting XI, while Jevani Brown was moved into attack and George Maris lined up in the centre of midfield.
Amoo is likely to make way after completing 76 minutes on his first start since New Year’s Day.
Dunne said he would look to freshen up his team with a couple of changes, with Uche Ikpeazu and Liam O’Neil both pushing for recalls.
