Buddies pull further clear

Ladbrokes Championship leaders St Mirren claimed a 2-0 win over 10-man Dunfermline to move 11 points clear of second-placed Livingston.

Harry Davis scored a penalty after Jason Talbot fouled Danny Mullen in the box and was sent off for his second bookable offence midway through the second half.

Liam Smith then fired in from the edge of the box three minutes later as the hosts made the most of their one-man advantage.

Both sides had chances in the first half, Cammy Smith headed over in the ninth minute from the six-yard box and in the 24th minute Craig Samson made a terrific save to deny Nicky Clark, as it ended goalless at half-time.

The Buddies took the lead from the penalty spot in the 69th minute when Mullen was brought down in the box by Talbot, who was sent off for his second booking, with Davis putting the hosts 1-0 up before Smith doubled the lead soon after.
