The European champions are set to pursue De Gea again at the end of the season.
His contract at Old Trafford expires in 2019, but Manchester United have the option for a one-year extension.
And they still hope to persuade the world-class shot-stopper to agree a new deal.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep De Gea, and it appears Spain's No.1 is ready to take advantage of his position at United.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, he has put three names to the club that they should sign to strengthen the side.
David De Gea wants Manchester United to bring in three quality players this summer
In defence, De Gea is said to want Barcelona centre-half Samuel Umtiti, whose contract situation is still not sorted at the Nou Camp.
Umtiti has a buyout clause in his current deal worth just £53m.
Beyond the France international, De Gea has two Juventus stars in his sights too.
Paulo Dybala and Miralem Pjanic are two of Juventus' star performers
Don Balon add Argentina forward Paulo Dybala and midfielder Miralem Pjanic are desired by De Gea.
The keeper apparently believes they would offer the necessary quality at United for the club to compete on all fronts next season.
While there is still hope in the Champions League and FA Cup this term, Manchester City have shown they are a class above in the battle for the Premier League title.
