Dagenham brush aside struggling Torquay

Torquay’s relegation fears deepened with a one-sided 3-0 home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge in the Vanarama National League.
Dagenham’s Mason Bloomfield headed a good early opportunity straight at goalkeeper Vincent Dorel. Luke Pennell then sent a headed effort against the crossbar and Fejiri Okenabirhie was denied by the offside flag, with Torquay relieved to see the first half end goalless.
The goal was coming, though, and the Daggers picked up where they left off as Okenabirhie’s fierce drive broke the deadlock five minutes into the second period.
Captain Craig Robson doubled the lead in the 76th minute after a free-kick was flicked on and Ruairi Keating missed the chance to pull one back late on, before Okenabirhie’s shot was deflected in by Michee Efete for an own goal.
