Boreham Wood boost play-off hopes with victory at Eastleigh

Boreham Wood moved into the Vanarama National League play-off places with a hard-fought 2-0 win at Eastleigh.
Sam Matthews saw a curling free-kick well saved by Grant Smith early on and Ben Williamson powered a header into the side-netting as Eastleigh enjoyed the better of the first-half chances.
The pattern continued after the break with Chris Zebroski having a close-range effort cleared off the line and Smith keeping out Ben Williamson’s header.
But Eastleigh were left to rue those missed opportunities as substitute Morgan Ferrier smashed an effort past Graham Stack on 58 minutes and Bruno Andrade made sure of the victory from the penalty spot nine minutes later after he had been fouled by Ryan Cresswell.
