Torquay off the bottom after beating Barrow

Torquay’s rampant 3-1 win against Barrow at Plainmoor was the perfect way to end 10 matches without a win – and move off bottom spot in the National League.
After a goalless first period, defender Sean McGinty came up from the back and prodded the Gulls in front from a flick-on by fellow stopper Josh Gowling.
George Dowling then gave Gary Owers’ men a cushion with a beautiful dart past his marker and tidy finish.
Michee Efete aided and abetted number three when he burst down the right and crossed early for Luke Young to side-foot home.
Barrow substitute Byron Harrison pulled one back with a late penalty after Gowling brought down Luke James in the box, but it was academic.
