Harry Cornick is on song for Hatters

Luton strengthened their position at the top of Sky Bet League Two with a crucial 1-0 win over fellow promotion-chasers Exeter thanks to Harry Cornick’s first-half goal.
The Town attacker was denied by the woodwork early on, sending a left-foot strike against a post, while deadline-day acquisition Jake Jervis scuffed wide and put another effort over.
Hiram Boateng’s shot from distance was easy for Marek Stech, before the crossbar came to City’s rescue on the half hour, James Collins’ cross-shot clipping the frame of the goal.
Town deservedly led in the 38th minute when Dan Potts teed-up Cornick whose shot from 18 yards deflected past goalkeeper Christy Pym.
Pym parried Olly Lee’s blast, while in the second half Luton went close to extending their lead as Jervis shot wide.
Luke Berry’s effort did not miss by much as he also put a free header straight at Pym, with Collins and substitute Danny Hylton going close too.
City, who barely threatened throughout, had one chance in the closing stages but Kane Wilson’s long-range attempt was saved by Stech.
